Sunday, 5 December 2010

okay i can't think of a reason why i haven't blogged on here for about half a month. oh well.

well, it's been extremely cold for the past week and a bit, it's snowed more i've ever seen, it's really unbelievable how thick it is.

i took a few of photos of the snow, used my flickr for the first time in a while. i'm only allowed 40 more photos on, so i best wait if i'd like to add any more photos.
i would say i enjoyed taking those photos more than any photography project i'd done the previous 2 years, because i wasn't trying to fit them under a criteria or anything like that. just wanted to remember the snow in a nice way.

downsides of the weather, making it hard to get to college.
monday i didn't go in, because i didn't know if the bus was going to get me there in time, but i felt pretty shitty for doing that because i probably could've went in.
tuesday, i was telling myself i'd go in, but i'd never felt so ill with the cold before. i only needed to be there for a couple of hours as well, there would've been no point waiting so long to get to places.
i was 30 minutes late on wednesday, then i was stuck outside the classroom because the teacher thought it was clever to lock everyone inside. when i finally got into the classroom, there was under 10 students, i don't remember how many exactly. but it really shows how many people had been effected.
second half of the day, even less people turned up, and that was supposed to be the class that everyone has to go to.

friday my group went to shoot stuff for our programme. ended up being the earliest there, even though i got the impression i'd be the last there. i ordered my food and ate it alone, then everyone came later and ordered theres, people in my group weren't happy, others were content. i was just sitting silently.
i basically spent all afternoon there filming stuff in the snow, i think it was pretty productive, we got about 3 minutes recorded of shots, then i don't remember how much interview we got. need to go back next year.
waited over an hour for a bus home, and it took an hour to get home. it was an awful journey. not looking forward to travelling tomorrow.

so it's almost christmas, bought some presents for people, still need to get loads more. it's quite worrying thinking about it, but if i've already bought stuff it shouldn't be that hard.
really looking forward to spending time with my family though.

also looking forward to seeing megamind on wednesday, been waiting for that for a while. i haven't been to the cinema for a few weeks now, but there hasn't been much on anyway. apart from that disney film which was only on for a week and liv called the cinema trip off < / 3
but i'm excited for next year and i can see all the new films and be excited especially THE GREEN HORNET. YES SON.

i don't even know what i'm saying anymore. i had so much more to say in my head.
i hope i do my next blog sooner.

OH WAIT BLINK-182 NEXT SUMMER.
CAN NOT WAIT.

well my plans for today basically got cancelled, and i'm glad because this morning i was just not going to go ahead anyway.

my day was still pretty nerve-racking though, because i had to do a presentation. i decided to do mine on wes anderson. everyone else had done more than 5 slides, photos on every slide, clips longer than 1 minute, and loads of information on their pages. mine was totally dull compared to everyone elses.
i included 2 of his adverts in the presentation and i got no complaints about it.
i made loads of mistakes when i was speaking too, i said that jason schwartzman is an arthouse actor most of the time, and i meant to say indie. i feel like an idiot thinking about that mostly.
oh and i was like "luke wilsons in his films too because he's obviously owen wilsons brother".
someone asked me a question about the royal tenenbaums, and i got really into the question, went to lean on the thing behind me, ended up sitting on the computer keyboard and making the computer go crazy.
then my teacher asked which my favourite film was and i went "OOOOH" and stared at the list of films on the list for ages, til i basically read them all out. i must of looked like a right sod.

really looking forward for tomorrow, basically because i get to go to the cinema after college, and probably watch a film before that. actually i dunno.

the rest of today i've just been looking for jobs. um.

i want to watch the simpsons and i want a doughnut. OH IT'S 6 GONNA WATCH SIMPSONS OKETRERJKB

Monday, 15 November 2010

i wasn't looking forward to today, but it actually wasn't that bad!

in college we were told to go in early cause we have a new temp teacher and he doesn't have time to be in all day.
he wanted to introduce us by saying our name, where we're from, and favourite film. everyone seemed to be finding it difficult to pick a film, which is something i've never really understood about people i suppose.
once i mentioned edward scissorhands he said "tim burton fan huh? that film is a bit girly" then a lad interrupted him and said "we were just saying how it was mint, it's not girly.... i like football"
then my teacher was talking about his favourite films and he goes on about different genres til he said "but wes anderson is my favourite director. rushmore, life aquatic, royal tenenbaums, y'know" and i nodded my head, and he glanced over, but no one else seemed to care.

then we had a ridiculous 2 hour gap, which i sat and looked on facebook through, went to the reception to ask about my bus pass, then go on facebook again. boring.

after that, in class the teacher made us all seperate into 4 groups to do voxpops, i had no idea where to start deciding which group i should join. but i was invited to a group, all people i get along okay with.
i ended up standing talking to julie about drunkenness, as we normally do.
but yeah, we had to ask people about handcuffs without letting them say wrists or police. awkward.
but i did my first ever directing role. it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be, even though i forgot how to count at one point. whatever. i could be the next stanley kubrick if i wanted to be.

can't be bothered to talk about what else happened in college, but it wasn't that much else.

on the way home i walked into my mam and my sister, which was weird since i decided to walk the route home i don't normally walk. KREEPIE.

got home, watched the darjeeling limited, which was the second time i watched it, and there was stuff i noticed and was like "AWWW ♥">
and i had a nice bath.

i really don't know what to expect tomorrow, but i'm not as worried as i was this time last week.
at least it'll be a break in the chain of repetition like the previous college days seemed to turn into.

Friday, 12 November 2010

the first few days of this week weren't good at all. i don't even know what it was specifically put me off enjoying monday at all, but i figure it may be down to my sleeping pattern.
in college i had to sit on a stool like what i had to sit on in science in high school, when i was walking out that lesson i had horrible back pain.

i thought tuesday would be better cause i was travelling to college with my mam, cause she had a meeting at central station.
i guess my mood was caused by someone in my class, but i don't even want to go on about it because of how stupid it is. ugh. i might mention it in a later blog, but hopefully not.

wednesday i landed the job as tv presenter, which i wasn't that worried about, til i read the script. i didn't want to to it, yet i wanted it out the way. my teacher being nice made everyone change roles cause he knew i couldn't do it. i ended up being floor manager.
i guess that lesson i discovered who in my class i don't think i could work with. one of being one of the people that annoyed me the previous day. at least i found out someone else in my class who agreed with me.
then at lunch time lauren said she couldn't meet me, and i couldn't be bothered to search for people in my class to spend lunch with, so i venutred to the closest boots alone.
i got to my class a few minutes early, but for once i wasn't the only one there.
i was annoyed/confused by something.

after that, i think my day kind of went uphill.
we watched sunshine by danny boyle, which i'd never seen before. when i think about it, i think i liked it more than i thought i would.
however, the discussion afterwards meant that i'd be late for meeting liv and alice at starbucks. i literally rushed there, and i think it took about 20 minutes to get there. before i even sat down, patrick came up behind me and said hello and asked me if i bought a drink yet. he bought my drink for me, i think that basically settled that the bad chain of events were over.
although i ended up missing my teachers leaving do, i thought my evening was better than what it could've been.

yesterday was pretty good too, despite some arguments and stuff. but my sister decided to be nice to me. she bought me the foundation i'd been waiting for for longer than 4 months i think. fuck man, poopie. she also bought me a nail varnish that she said she'll give me for christmas, which was very nice of her.

a couple of days ago i bought a sims expansion pack for only 75p, and it kind of encouraged me to play it again. for some reason, it kind of messed up yesterday, so it gave me a chance to uninstall it, and reinstall all the other expansion packs i bought years ago. it took me 2 hours or something silly like that to get them all on. and i spent about 1 hour on the game in total. that's great.
but i have a feeling i'll end up on there later.

i forgot what i was going to say, other websites are open in other tabs and i'm paying more attention to them.
anyways, going to make some cookies any minute now. luvley.

Thursday, 4 November 2010

i'm guessing this daily blogging thing won't be as easy as i thought. i mean i'm only doing this now cause it's my day off and i have nothing else to do.

yesterday was pretty good.
my bus was late again, but i ended up getting to college on time. no one was waiting outside the classroom, so i figured everyone was inside, but only the teacher and another student was in.
we watched one flew over the cuckoo's nest, this was the third or fourth time i'd watched it. i think i enjoyed it the most this time, because i was fully attached to it, and i feel like i fully understood what everything actually meant this time. it's a fantastic piece of work.
we had a very short discussion after that because we were forced out of the room.

liv was late, so i decided to go along to the cinema and buy the tickets before we missed the film.
i was served by the guy who looked like seth rogen again, and when i asked for my tickets he said "student tickets, right?" then he said "have you got 2 student cards, i can't sell 2 tickets if you don't have 2 cards" then he said "normally i wouldn't let it happen, and i'd probably get wrong for doing it but i'll let you off this time"
what a nice duuuude.
i was so thirsty, i never bought a drink at college even though i insisted i would before i left the house because i had no time then. as soon as liv walked up to me i was like "GET ME A DRINK"
and she bought one from in the cinema, i felt bad about it cause they cost loads. the drinks at the cinema are the size of a bucket though, it's perfect, i'll love anyone forever if they buy me a bucket size drink :o
so yeah we saw "the kids are all right"
it generally looked like something i'd enjoy, plus the cast looked pretty reliable.
it wasn't as great as i was expecting. i felt like there was loads missed out of the story, and the ending was bad.

i don't really remember my day after that. i'd intended to watch a film since that morning, but the 2 i saw were enough. i think i had an early night, but it probably wasn't.

now today i have nothing much going, so maybe it's time i put a film on now.
my internet broke halfway through typing this, so i made a tray of rocky road biscuits, they'll probably be good to eat now, but i think i'll sort them out for after tea tonight. lovely.

also i still have my germany blog to finish cause i stumbled upon that before. honestly, i've forgotten most of the order now, i still have loads to write with that. oh dear. i hope it's this year i actually post it! i like how at the beginning of it i mention i'm going to complain to weatherspoons after i finish the blog, and i still haven't done that!

this is my favourite song right now, it's not like anything else i listen to i suppose, yet i don't see it as a 'guilty pleasure'. i just can't help but repeat it!

fashioning in plastic heads

today was a bit stressful to end up with, but overall pretty good.

i don't know what's up with my bus, but the past 2 days it's been late. i'm going to have to get up earlier tomorrow to catch an earlier one, which i'm not excited for.
well today i was expecting to be late, so i wasn't even as worried as i was the first times i was late.
i still ran to my class. i thought i was going to collapse, my lecture room is up 4 flights of stairs, not forgetting the flight you have to walk to enter the building.
i just don't like using the lift though.

i walked in my class late, the teacher didn't seem to notice so i didn't apologize.
i don't recall much specifically from then, i don't think i've ever been so tired or dizzy. it was stuff i can catch up on, so not all bad.
then we were set off to print off the career essay.
not only did i consume time by waiting for a computer since every single one in the building was taken, but when i eventually got a 15 minute log-in one, my word format wasn't accepted onto the computer, ended up going back to my room 10 minutes early empty handed.
someone in my class called darren was waiting by the room with his laptop, i'd never had a proper conversation with him before, but he ended up letting me use his laptop to get my essay to somehow work to prove i did something. his settings were in spanish, i just thought it was the most random thing ever, but i finally got it working. i had no time to print it off, so i sat with his computer through that lesson.
i felt sorry for the guy sam i had to work with. he was marking it, and everything had the squiggly lines underneath saying it was spelt wrong, and it was spelt right.
i guess that lesson i felt pretty confident about my work. i think that's the point of that class, it's weird feeling like my work is good. i know that when it comes to essay i always try my best.
i'm just really excited to read other peoples in my classes essays tomorrow cause it's the film review ones. i'm a lot more confident that that particular essay is better than my career one.

after college i met my sister at central station, and we went to the metro centre. boots staff got double discount today, so we intended to buy christmas presents, but i ended up getting nothing, basically.
my sister is obsessed with perfume, the full time out revolved around that basically.

i can't think of anything else that cool to point out.
i got post today, which i do enjoy. and i got a message from my teacher whilst i was typing this saying i don't need to be in til 1 tomorrow!

okay, i feel thoughts are important to my blog now because i really can't wait to see them next year and be like "YES I STILL THINK THAT"

so the past few days i've been listening to lagwagon a lot. i feel i got into them too late, and they basically have the sound of a band that i'd love. i feel like in the future i'll like them a lot.

my favourite song from one of the albums i bought when i was in germany.

okay i'm also going to mention, i'm such an awkward person to buy presents for. i thought about this cause i was asked to make a christmas list.
to me, this is the first sign of maturity. yet, i kind of feel like i'll always be a child or 'teenage'.
i thought i knew what i was typing, but i really don't remember. i'm so tired, but the idea of having a later start tomorrow kind of lets me have a later night.

Sunday, 31 October 2010

i've decided to look through the posts of what this time last year was like. A LOT of things have happened this year that i really wanted last year.
an example, october 30th i mentioned i had a dream i got tickets to see blink at leeds. this year that actually did happen.
i also mentioned on that post this year i'd get to see many other bands i love, and i did! my 2 other favourite bands, NOFX and bad religon.

also, last year my film coursework was tim burton study, and i mentioned various times how it would be a dream come true to meet him. unbelievable as it is, this year i did get to meet him.

basically, i just wish i could keep warning myself everything isn't that bad, especially if all of this good stuff happens. i dunno, i might have to do the daily thoughts again. i'd love to see all the good things that could happen next year that i wanted this year.

my week off

well, we had 'reading week' which was supposed to be a week when uni students read books that will help with their course or whatever. honestly, the closest thing to reading a book this week is a page of wes andersons college short story.
and catalogue's to decide what i want for christmas (although that has nothing to do with my course, but it was the only physical book that i've read).

it hasn't been very eventful at all.
instead of celebrating halloween by dressing up and going to town drinking, i decided to bake a cake dedicated to my favourite horror character, the frankenstein monster :)
hardly much of a dedication considering i just put green food colouring in that i bought from the co-op by tyne met months ago, but it was the closest thing it was going to be towards a dedication.
i think whenever i'm bored on days off, i plan to bake like that again. i like the idea of having a new hobby.

something else that happened this week is the price of the tickets for the green hornet premiere. a lot better than what i was prepared for it to be. plus, instead of waiting outside for hours like at the alice in wonderland premiere, i'll be inside with the cast and crew.
i like convincing myself that i'm going, because really, how could i say no to the chance of meeting seth rogen and michael gondry? they're in totally different leagues of the interest of film i have, yet they're both going to be there.
even if i don't go, it's really had me thinking about future premieres i could possibly attend.

speaking of the future, for college we had 2 essays to write, one of them being about what future career you'd like tv production wise. i didn't enjoy writing this essay, but it really did make me think about what i'll end up doing. i'd love to be working on films one day, and it just seems closer than i imagine, now that i have a mental idea of 2 roles i'd love. i just need to be prepared to move.

the other essay we had to write was about any film we liked. i decided to do about a new favourite i've already mentioned on here recently, the squid and the whale.
just writing about it, and studying about it with the extra features on the dvd has made me love it a lot more than i realised. i'm not surprised if i end up watching it again soon.

other things i've watched recently are mean creek, you don't mess with the zohan, the wedding singer, hot rod, i heart huckabee's, 40 year old virgin.

i also went to the cinema with liv to see 'easy a', which i'd been looking forward to seeing it since i saw the trailer before cyrus a few weeks back.
it seemed like such a girly film, i can't decide now if i like it as much as i did after i saw it, but it does seem like one of those guilty pleasure films.
i keep laughing at the idea of alex delarge being the head teacher of the high school in the film though.

and yesterday with liv we did the charity buckets at tesco.
it wasn't the most enjoyable time i've done the buckets, but it did go really fast. i think it was because of the system we put together for letting one of us sit for half an hour with the heavier bucket, and the other stand with the lighter bucket. obviously, i convinced liv to make me sit down longer than her! but it was a nice way of keeping track of the time.
the sky man was next to us, and he looked a mix between john barrowman and tom cruise. he kept trying to make conversation, but it was just weird.
me and liv were flabbergasted.

don't really know what else great happened this week. was a particularly boring half term.

oh and it's halloween. doing nothing. was going to have a film marathon of scary films, but i guess i'll put on something tim burton, then something scarier before i sleep. ugh i wish i had people who would celebrate with me or something, jeezessgbtgig.
let's hope there's reduced frankenstein cookies or something tomorrow :o

Wednesday, 20 October 2010

i feel like today i did something i don't want to forget, and i know blogging about it might suggest i will, but i feel like expressing it will probably imprint it in my mind more.
gosh, i'm making such a big deal about it, but i've never really been proud of myself for anything like this!

in college today, we were made to set up the tv studio as if we're going to do a live broadcast. the teacher allocated us roles, but he basically pointed to my group and said gallery stuff. i was worried about sorting out the cables, but i didn't even need to do that. we had 2 hours til we were going to do a transmission of a fake news bulletin to various places around the college.
i ended up being the vision mixer, which is the person who controls which camera shots are broadcast. i was so nervous doing it, but i felt like it was a real taste of the sort of work i'm aiming to end up in hopefully.
it was really quite scary thinking people were watching what i could control. i wasn't even watching to be honest.
once it was over with, the teacher individually summarized how well we did. he really praised me a lot for how well i did, in front of the class and when i was by myself. although i felt like maybe i'm getting too much praise for it, i didn't consider it was the first time i did that, and i really do put myself down too much.
what the bad part was, the teacher lied about it being broadcast around the college.
in a way i was gutted, it no longer felt as exciting and scary as it originally did.

basically doing that has made me look forward to doing more practical work at college. i'm really glad i've got a bit more confidence in something.

Thursday, 14 October 2010

so 2 days ago (as i think i mentioned) i went to see the social network. i'd been looking forward to it for a while, the fact that i've previously enjoyed the work i've seen by david fincher (of course, who doesn't think fight club is a classic?), also being a facebook user, i was interested to see how it would be put onto screen.
i was impressed, and i really enjoyed it. i can understand why some people might not like it, but that doesn't apply to my opinion.
i'd heard before the story about how mark zuckerburg had stolen the idea of facebook, and i love how the film created drama from something that probably didn't make such a big deal as it did. i also remember hearing that zuckeburg created the website to get over his ex-girlfriend, and i like how she was involved throughout the whole film. i guess without her, there wouldn't have been an open ending.
i thought jesse eisenburg did a very good performance considering this is only the second film i've seen with him in. i would say he suited the role well, and i think he isn't as bad of an actor as some people are saying he is.

and then yesterday i saw the other guys.
i wasn't looking forward to this as much as the social network, but i still thought it would be worth seeing.
it was more enjoyable than i prepared. again, there was a shit audience and they didn't laugh at things that were funny. the atmosphere really does a lot to someone's experience.
will ferrell stole the film in my opinion, at least his character was the funniest. i found it really odd with mark wahlburg, just because you'd never imagine him in a comedy situation.
the ending was a huge let down. i was so bored during the last half.
i think i might enjoy it better the next time i watch it, which will probably be in a very long time.

Monday, 11 October 2010

i guess i haven't wrote a blog about how i've been lately. well that sounds like i'm ill or something, but i'd say i'm actually doing well.

today i found out one of my current teachers is leaving. i was shocked to hear. i've always had teachers leaving during the year, so i should've been more prepared for something like that to happen.
in high school, my form in particular, probably had the most form teachers out of any other class. the first one didn't even leave, she just replaced us. i'd say it's her fault!
then in tyne met, of course we never had a proper film teacher for a full year. and that sucks really, but at least i liked learning about film.
so yeah, it might be cool to have another new teacher. but from experience, it probably won't be that great.

i've been at newcastle for a month now, and i'm enjoying the course. i'm not surprised i'm not as comfortable in a group as everyone else seems to be, and i'm trying to change that. i am enjoying the practical lessons cause everything i'm learning is new, for instance, today we were setting up the broadcast cameras again and learning how to adjust the focus and brightness ect. it's so much different to how you would work a photography camera.
but i think i prefer the lessons where we can discuss film. we had to show a clip of any film to the class, and i chose one from everything is illuminated.
apparently we have to write an essay about it soon, and i'm quite looking forward to that!

other than college what have i been doing. hmm.
looking for a job. i know i have lots of student money i will have to pay back someday, but i'd much rather earn money that i'm not too scared to spend.

i went drinking for the first time in a while the other night with my sister. 3 bottles of wine, all different types each time. wasn't a good idea. i fucking hate chardonnay.
and considering i haven't blogged for a while, i was drinking the week before at my auntie and uncles anniversary party. i was more drunk than i realised, it's one of the first time i ever remember throwing up from alcohol.
but i suppose the night was good that i got to spend time with my family, and i got to speak to my cousin lisa, who i only ever remember speaking to properly on the phone when i was younger. also got on well with my younger cousins connor and megan, which sometimes can be surprising.

i'm going to the cinema with liv tomorrow night to see the social network. i'm excited, and lucky i found the tickets for free!

there was stuff i was going to say but i can't remember. oh well, another reason to blog on here if i remember. i dunno, i like blogging on here more when i've left it for a while, but it's a shame they all start the same.

okay i remember stuff now.
i bought some things with my student loan!
frank turner's poetry of the deed (which is an amazing album), zack and miri make a porno (turned out to be an okay film), a very big blue t-shirt (i still haven't worn it), a jumper with a cute heart on (worn it, plan to wear it tomorrow), and a scott pilgrim poster (on my bedroom wall now)
COOL.
i spent when i got home re-arranging all my posters. don't really like the order, but i made at least one wall that i'm happy with

i should add more photos. i haven't developed any of my germany/france/swiss photos, me and liv have been discussing to make a day of it soon, and i know we will.

okay i'll leave it here i feel like i need to do something else now. bye.

the squid and the whale

i'd been wanting to see this film for a while now, and a few days ago i found it online for £1.60 and free delivery, and figured why not. it arrived this morning, and i'd been excited all day to watch it. even the person who sold it to me put a post it note on recommending me to seek out the work by the writer david eggers (away we go, where the wild things are).
i regret having left it this long to actually take the time out to get the film, i enjoyed it very much. i love how the very first line of the film sums up the story, even though it's just about a game of tennis. i would say, in a nutshell, it's a story about trust, and how it can go wrong in both the long and short term. i found it very inspirational, especially after i discovered what "the squid and the whale" actually meant.
the only previous work that i've seen noah baumbach both write and direct was greenburg, and i can identify the style he presents, especially in the characters. seeing this has really encouraged me to try and watch the rest of his work! i feel he may be underrated in comparison to wes anderson who he's worked with a couple of times.

this isn't really much of a review, and i don't want to ramble on too much about it, i just feel like i haven't watched a new film this good in a while. well, new as in something i picked out that may not be as recent. i haven't watched any dvds in a couple of weeks now, and i think this may have been the film to encourage me to do so.

Thursday, 23 September 2010

oh god, if i were doing the daily blogging, yesterdays would've been pretty interesting. i'm so glad it was only the first half of the day that was bad.

the day before i ended it pretty sadly which was what i tried to avoid the most. but that night i had a dream that kind of lifted my mood for the morning and made me more determined to start my day better.

oh and my dream was i met richard elfman (the director of forbidden zone, and the older brother of danny elfman), and we were at my grandmas house with my dad. i remember saying to him "i was so gutted i missed out on meeting your brother at the alice in wonderland premiere, he's an amazing man!" and he replied with something like "yeah loads of people prefer my brother over me, but at least you're friends with me now"..
it sounded better in my dream, okay!

so i was walking to the bus stop listening to oingo boingo happily. my bus arrived on time, and i queued up. i open my purse to find i forgot my bus fare, had barely enough for even a single ticket. so i checked my phone to see 3 missed calls of my mam, i phoned her back but my phone died on her. i basically rushed home foaming, all the school kids were walking in the other direction, i felt like i was swimming in the opposite way of the current.
once i got to the backlane i saw my mam get in the car, i literally ran over out of breath.
she gave me a lift to catch up with the bus. we caught up with it at chillingham road in byker, and i would have been able to get on it if it wasn't for the fucking slow taxi in front of us. seriously, every other time there's a taxi on the road it's going way past the speed limit. i thought it was typical. a horrible joke.
i eventually got dropped off in central newcastle with 20 minutes to get to college. a lift in the car would've took 3 minutes or less, but my mam was going to be late for work, even though her work friend said not to worry about being late.
i was pushing it. at 08.57 exactly i was at central station, quite a walk away from college but still pretty close. i saw my bus, and decided it would take about 3 minutes to get there on time. no it fucking well didn't. the bus was packed with business people. i don't even recall what time i got into college, but i felt like i was going to collapse. i rushed to the tv studio, then slowly went into the room. i was terrified. my teacher is pretty scary and all i could imagine was him screaming at me.
i walked in, and was given an evil glare almost. i was bright red and that wasn't cause i was embarrassed. i felt my face covered in sweat. there were no seats so i stood at the back, i felt like i was punished. another couple of students came in late, they were both boys, i felt as if my teacher looked at them more angrier than he did at me. after the last late person came in, my teacher was like "oh by the way, there's seats over here!" happily as if we chose to stand.
i could barely concentrate, i felt like shit. i was planning in my head my apology to my teacher for the hour. i walked by him, and he smiled at me really big, i hesitated and made it look like i wasn't even supposed to talk to him at all. i heard him ask why the others were late, but he didn't seem to be bothered about me.
still, horrible morning.

at lunchtime i finally met lauren for lunch. the whole time i've been at college, we've arranged meeting up for lunch, but we've never actually gone a head with it, or been able to. i went in her campus/building thing, which couldn't even compare to mine. totally different. i had my lunch in her classroom, which was an 'eat healthy' bar. the last time i had lunch at college that basically filled me up.
it was awkward being in her class though, there were other people from her class in there, and it was pretty obvious they were thinking "who the fuck is that"
but it was nice being able to spend time with lauren, it made me a bit more confident about being in college knowing that my oldest friend isn't very far away if i need her.

i left early cause i had no idea which classroom i was in. when i got to my building i sat with julie, paddy and ben. i wouldn't say they're my friends yet, but i've hung around them the most out of anyone in the class. i don't even know if i'm really ~~~one of them~~~ cause they're basically the smokers. but whatever. i think approaching them was pretty confident of me, i hadn't done anything particularly confident that day that i was happy with doing.
the next lesson we had was contextual study, but the teacher of the class likes to call it 'film club'.
to put it short, it's basically film coursework. brilliant. i think it's going to be my favourite lesson! the lesson was spent discussing film, and a few tv shows. what bothered me was someone said their favourite film was american history x. if you don't remember, that is the film that bothered me during A2 film studies, and i hated it. my teacher said "ahh i have so many opinions on that film, i think i'll screen it to the class cause i want you all to discuss it with me!"
ugh. i mean, the last time i watched it i didn't have a problem cause i skipped out the scene where they break into the koren supermarket, and the rape scene. i think i'll just have to cover my ears and close my eyes during that if it actually happens.
basically we have to do an essay on a film, and i worked out exactly what i want to do mine on. edward scissorhands/frankenstein/the elephant man.

after college i met up with alice and liv to go to the cinema. we were going to see the runaways, but when we got there we discovered they weren't screening it. we ended up seeing 'cyrus' which i wanted to see ever since i saw the trailer.
from the trailer i got the impression it was one of those hilarious comedy films, but despite finding out it wasn't like that, i still really enjoyed it. it reminded me slightly of greenburg that i saw a couple of months ago. it seemed like it had drama influences mixed in too, the characters are all struggling to have that perfect relationship. i also appreciate that the film had no script, just an outline to work from.
but what bugged me during the film was the hand-held cameras. yeah, it did make the film seem more personalised, but the way it was shaky just bothered me at some points. overall, it was a pretty impressive film.

i can't be bothered to rant on about yesterday anymore. apart from my mam made me eat curry yesterday. ppppoooooooooppppppppppooooooo.
i couldn't sleep cause i had itchy legs.

today in a summary, i played guitar hero for the first time in forever.
i've seen quite a few of the bands on there since i last went on, it's so weird thinking of it that way. i'd say there's even bands on there that i love more than i did when i first got guitar hero.
oh and i didn't know weezer were on it. i played their song and sucked at it. it's because that's the song i usually skip.
i think i'm going to play on it again any minute. i'm excited for that shit, maaaan.

and dear lord, bad religion are my main source of inspiration right now. i feel like i love them more everyday. i can't wait til i have the chance to see them again, i just want to meet them and talk to them. let this happen.

well hello again blogspot blog.
i have today off so i thought it would be worth mentioning what's been happening lately.

i started my course last week. i was pretty scared at first, but by the end of the week i really enjoyed it. i'm looking forward to doing actual work though.
so last week i did health and safety talks and what-not, which was helpful, but far too overdone.
then we were put into groups to put together a presentation, and we had to do about how the ear works. in tyne met i would've been shitting myself if i was made to do something like that, but at newcastle i felt more confident to do it.
i was worried i wouldn't get on well with my group since there's 4 boys and only 1 other girl, but i enjoyed working with them. i'd say they all try their best, which i like.
the presentation went good. i let myself down by basically changing a word without thinking what i was saying through. at least i'm prepared for next time in case something like that happens.

leyla left newcastle for oxford, which still really hasn't hit me yet. i feel like it won't really effect me as much considering we used to speak online all the time before we became friends in real life. i'm looking forward to visiting her in oxford with liv sometime though!

i permanently changed to google chrome and i'm getting loads of squiggly lines on words eeeeesh. not really important news but expect less stupid spelling mistakes :)

i'm also trying out this positive change thing, i started 2 days ago. i think i've done pretty well. i probably will notice the change tomorrow when i interact with people who aren't my family, and i think that'll be better.

it feels like a sunday. i don't want to get used to this cause i need to be in college next monday. at least i get thursday and friday off this week and forever too.

okay no idea what else to write. i'm going to buy both the series of spaced this week cause i need to watch more tv related things. the work of edgar wright, can't really go wrong if i enjoy his films. even my mam told me to watch it aswell, so i'm looking forward to following that.
i'm thinking about starting an entertainment blog cause apparently i don't need to do much written work on my course, and i don't really want to give it up. i quite enjoy doing that sort of stuff. not going to limit to film though, might include tv series and cds.

leeds fest: 25th - 30th august 2010!

i was pretty gutted that the early entry meant missing 'scott pilgrim vs the world' on opening day, but seriously, i had nothing to be gutted about. i had such a good time at leeds, it was one of the best life expirences i've had, and i'm probably more lucky than i realise.

the lugguage we all took was stupid. loads of it. mine was a large percentage food, i think it was the same for leyla and liv. at one point me and leyla looked for somewhere to put the tent whilst liv waited in the middle of a field with all our things.
once everything was sorted, we just settled in, had an alcoholic drink and some instant bbq-ed bacon and sausages each and sat around. i thought the day would drag, but it didn't really cause we had some good banter.
we waited 1 hour and 20 minutes to get an over 18 wristband. very pointless thinking back.
early morning the next day, people from general entry were coming in. i was woken up by someone singing 'bob' by NOFX, which was a pretty nice thing to hear considering if i was at home, a NOFX song wouldn't be played by anyone else.
someone shouted "RAOUL MOAT'S DEAD"

ermm the next day we moped around again.
waited til the afternoon to go meet helena and aimee, which i chatted to for a bit. they were camped not far away, and we decided to meet as much as we could.
leyla bbq-ed a swiss roll, i had a bbq-ed apple pie, and liv had a mixture of noodles and mash potatoe. i'm sure that's exactly what all the top chefs would want to eat if they camped at leeds.

that night, the area with all the stages opened, and we spent the rest of the night there. were was a screening of kick-ass at one of the stages.
such a great film, loved seeing it again. also loved the fact we finally convinced liv into seeing it, and she actually liked it.
me and leyla were laughing through it as usual. something that caught on the whole week was repeating "MINDY was born"
oh and i don't like how everytime christopher mintz-plasse came on, loads of people shouted "MCLOVIN!" at one point i thought i should have my say and interupt them all with "he's actually called FOGELL, jeez..."
but didn't really do so well with that.

after that, on the 'introducing' stage, a couple of bands were playing. we only caught the headliner of that night 'get cape. wear cape. fly', who seemed pretty good. never really heard his stuff, but i'm aware his stuff gets compared to frank turner.

not a very nice sleep after that. the neighbours were loud, and there was a mini-stage by our tent that played music til the early morning.
although i say that, i only intended to have a nap before we went to see shutter island, and i ended up falling asleep totally.

got up sharpish the next morning to see the first bands.
moral dilemma at the lock-up stage 12am. it was empty, and we all stood by the barrier for them. i'd seen them support the king blues, i kind of wanted to see these to reassure weither they're that good or not.
i'm still quite undecided. i appriciate them as a uk underground band, and i do quite enjoy their music, but i don't think they're going to go very far. the bassist guitar strap broke during their set, and they just stood and spoke about it on the stage.
the following band however did not disapoint anyone in the audience. random hand, again i've seen them as a support act, but for sonic boom six. brilliant band, i'd say this was my favourite performance of theirs. even leyla and liv enjoyed them.

after that we stood and watched a bit 3oh!3, not anything i enjoy, but there were stages of music, i may aswell have watched something. frank turner was doing a signing during this set, so me and leyla left early to get there in time. liv went missing til about 10 minutes before the signing.
i was actually really really nervous to meet him since i started to fall in love with his music a lot this year.
when i was infront of him, he requested a high-5. i was shaking so much so i was embaressed about that. he signed my card, and i smudged it with my fingers immediately. shittttttt man. got a photo with him though, pretty nifty memory.

me and leyla went to see 'the rats', which was gallows secret name for leeds, whilst liv staged at the main stage for the rest of the day seeing some bands i can't recall.
literally only seen 3 songs by gallows, which seemed very well performed as usual. would've loved to have seen all of the set, but it clashed with frank turner who i also love.
ended up really early at the NME stage and caught the last 2 songs by kids in glass houses. they're a very boring band, and their performance did nothing for me other than make me impatient for frank.
frank did an amazing set. loved every song, i think i may have enjoyed that performance to when i saw him at the begining of the year. i was distracted by some older man in the audience who i couldn't tell if he was special or not. he clapped his hands in the weirdest way, and headbanged at everything. granted - he was enjoying the music, but folk punk doesn't need THAT much headbanging.

right after serj tankian was on. streams and streams of people left, and it was a pretty empty tent, which really quite confused me.
he did an amazing performance with a string quartet band on stage too. he obviously tried really hard, but it was sad that barely anyone was there to see it. also, people chanted "SYSTEM", which made me feel bad for serj, he obviously couldn't do anything SOAD related.
yeah it made me wish i saw him support foo fighters cause i can imagine tons more people would have been there to see it.

walked up to meet liv after that. main stage area was PACKED. dizzee rascal was on, his final song was bonkers. sadly, i know that song... he really did get an great response though.
met up with liv for a moment, and ditched her again to catch a song by cancer bats. should probably listen to them more, they're alright.

we went back to meet liv, but she dragged herself into the crowd for a good space for libertenes. i was quite suprised at how good they were. didn't have as much audience as dizzee, but again the audience did love them.

after their set, i had no bands to see, so i figured i'd wait at the lock-up stage for bad religion. the get up kids just started their set when i got there. i didn't like them, but when i was there i spent my time making it a little mission getting closer and closer to the front. i didn't expect to get very close, but once get up kids left, i found myself at the barrier.
i was literally shaking once i was there. it could've been cause it was so bloody freezing, or how fucking fantastic the thought of seeing one of my favourite bands right at the very front.
oh god, my heart stopped when they came on stage. they're all really much older looking in real life, but that doesn't erase their ability to perform as brilliantly as they used to when they were younger.
they opened with do what you want - perfect, fast pased, generally brilliant song.
"say what you must, do all you can, break all the fucking rules and go to hell with superman and die like a champion - yah hey"
got goosebumps at that point uirigubigtbki.
they played loads of songs, i wouldn't say they were really classics by bad religion, but any fan would know what they were. my favourite songs of the night were atomic garden, fuck armageddon... this is hell, and i want to concor the world.
i'd say their last 5 songs were the ones everyone would expect, infected, american jesus, generator, 21st century digital boy and sorrow.
generator is my all-time favourite bad religion song, and hearing it live blew me away, seriously. there's nothing better than hearing one of your favourite songs live. that made my night. not only that, but they did it fast, rather than their slow live version.
what suprised me most about them was the talk on stage. considering they sing about pretty serious subjects, their sense of humour is great. i was laughing at everthing greg was saying. my favourite speach of his was warning the audience not to use the fun-fair rides that were outside of the tent, and he gave an example story "person loses head after being flung 20ft off swings"
and i also love how at the end of their set, jay said "we'd also like to thank gallows because they've gave me hope that punk rock isn't dead"

bad religion were definitely my favourite lock-up performance of the whole weekend. i still can't even believe i've seen them now. during their set i was nipping myself to make sure it was actually happening. i'm so fucking lucky to have experienced them myself, a band that's been around for 30 years, not only that, but one of the best bands in punk music today. it was an honour being at the barrier of their show and have them grace my life in such a way they have. even if that was the only time i'd see them, i'll remember their performance forever.

after the set, i bought my first bad religion t-shirt, and put it on immediately. i was so fucking cold that night.
when we were going back to the tent, the mini stage was playing all the small things by blink. i was thinking to myself "this is the last time i'll hear blink til i see them" i didn't really know what to think about that, it was too good to be true.
after that was played, it was followed by sum 41 - FACE PALM FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE, ERGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

that night wasn't a very good sleep. we were probably the only people in our area going to sleep as early as we did. i think one of the main reasons i couldn't sleep was cause i just saw bad religion, and i didn't really have a problem sleeping the night before with all the noise.
i woke up in the middle of the night, at on the cealing of the tent, "inception" was written. i was shitting myself once i saw it, i was thinking "so this could actually be a dream?" i was so fucking confused and i didn't know what to do. even if it was a dream, at least i've got it all written in my blog so well enough to be a memory :)

the next morning we woke up a little later. got to the main stage in time for motion city soundtrack. i loved their set! i feel like it's made me appriciate them as much as i used to, considering i don't really enjoy pop-punk music. they're a band who do it right. i could even bare listening to their new songs which i've only heard once or twice. ahhh and they played 'the future freaks me out' which is probably my favourite song of theirs.

followed by the king blues. this was the 2nd time i saw them, and they did a perfect performance. sad that it was short set because they would've pulled off a longer one well. i eneded up being almost by the barrier, which was accident, but i didn't really mind at all.
the only thing i didn't like about their set was they played a new song no one knew. they did headbutt which was an exception, but i didn't know how to feel about the other one.

lost leyla and liv AGAIN, spent so much time looking for them that i ended up catching a bit of thrice. met them at the tent and prepared for the 2 hour gap of nothing. had food, then experimented with some alcohol i brought. cherry brandy, vodka and coke was lush, but i ended up running low on coke and used energy drink instead, which made me very hyper. leyla had a really really strong vodka and coke, and she was a bit drunk. we had fun drawing on the tent walls though, all the people who were playing and such.
i felt the need to bring in an alcoholic drink to the stages with me because the alcohol there was exceedingly expensive.
i got it in by hiding it under my arm and i felt very proud of myself.

limp bizkit just made me think of the 90's, it was just a blast from the past seeing them. it's a shame that whenever i do try and listen to them in my spare time i can't let myself listen to it all ahaha, they're just really cringey for me.
but i'd happily see them again.

after that set, we ran around to the other side of the stage, this was a start for me to get close for blink-182, or at least be on mark hoppus' side.
i was looking forward for cypress hill, generally because they're nothing like i'd usually listen to. yeah sadly didn't enjoy them. insane in the membrane would've been enough, ahaha. oh well.

WEEZER. oh my loooord. one of my favourite performances of the weekend. they were just so fun live. i love them a load more now that i've seen them. i've got to see them again.
what i love is that they played older stuff that everyone knows. surf wax america = fantastic live song.
they even covered wheatus's "teenage dirtbag", which ironically we'd been explaining to liv wasn't a weezer song at the start of the day. freaky shit man.
rivers was so close to me too, cause i moved even closer for a good blink space, and rivers had sat on the fence at the side of the stage, which was literally right infront of me. oh god. he really doesn't give a shit about anything, he's so fucking cool.

someone had a tom cruise cut out, and i found myself next to tom cruise. that was cool?

paramore after that. SO MANY HAYLEY WILLIAMS WANNABES IN THE WORLD EVERY SINGLE ONE SHOULD DIE. they're all fucking bitches too. i wasn't wanting to see these at all, but whatever.
people really pushed during these. couldn't name one of their songs they played apart from misery bussiness, and that one from the twilight advert. i appriciated them more when they first started out, personally i think hayley just wants a shit load of money more than anything.
such a relief when they were over. no one moved after their set - paramore fans are blink fans too. it made me regret not trying to move more for blink when weezer were on.
although i did get scared when loads and loads of people were falling over and toppling. people really really pushed, and i felt like i was going to die any moment. not that i would have minded if it was during blink, but i was too scared. someone came on stage and said "we don't want what happened in 2007 when foo fighters were coming on, there was a large number of injuries then, just step back 3 times everyone thanks"
the most people did was one.

it took fucking forever til blink came on.
shaking like fuck. when they did come on i just screamed my heart out. i couldn't believe it was happening.
ahhh i feel so weird even talking about it.
mark hoppus was right infront of me, the guy who i spent my high school years listening to instead of the teachers, my hero. not only that, but he was on stage with definitely the most talented musicain in the world, and ..tom delonge?
surreal.
i stood there for 2 songs, then i was still scared, so i started to walk further away. i basically ran. i regret it slightly, because my spot beforehand wasn't as bad. my neck hurt either way, so i just decided to go further and further back.
my view was nearly all blocked and i had to watch the tv for most of the night, which in a way i was gutted about.
i loved their set list. mainly cause they actually played my favourite song ever by them - don't leave me. ugh i can't believe i heard it live.
when i was walking back, i stood in the way of 2 young girls. i let them infront of me, cause i felt bad. it made me so happy seeing them sing along to every word, it reminded me of me and stacy when we were in high school. oh maaaan.

then for the encore, they put a black sheet over the stage, expect people on my side could see everything that was happening, and travis was being strapped onto his drums.
that man is a miracle. witnessing that man drumming with my own eyes has got to see one of the best things i could ever witness in my lifetime. he is flawless, i doubt anyone on earth could be that talented at drumming, and i'm not even being biased cause he's in my favourite band.
OH AND THEY PLAYED JOSIE. that was nice hearing live cause i didn't expect that :)
i've got to see them again. ever after i've seen them, i know i've got to see them again. such an honour to see those guys live too. they took up so much time during my high school years, and that's basically is a lifetime for some people.

i bought a blink and a NOFX shirt after that, and it was so hectic getting them. big audience for blink, but i couldn't see cause i was close maaaaaan.
that night i probably had the best sleep. mainly because i remember dreaming about mark hoppus' son. greatttttt.

we got up the latest the last day.
i spent all morning talking about blink :)
went to see crazy arm, and missed a bit of their set. they were alright. i prefered them when i saw them support frank turner.

i was so excited for the skints, but gutted i could only see a couple songs due to the clash with billy talent.
they played so well, i can imagine i would've enjoyed them more this time than last. the gutiarist said "put your hands up if you smoke weed"
me and leyla just stood there and laughed, so awkward hahahaha.

billy talent were great. can't identify the lead singers sexuailty, then me and leyla were trying to remember his name and she said "billy, obviously"
then i deicded it was ian dury and the blockheads. if you see a picture of the whole band, you'll understand.
yeah i feel like i wasn't fully in the mood for them, but they still met my standards. would love to see them again.

loads of people left for before gogol bordello, meaning a great space at the barrier was awaiting me.
they peformed brilliantly, execpt their set-list wasn't the best. too many new songs, and pala tute wasn't even one of them. they should've played faster and more energetic songs, that would've been ace.
my strange uncles from abroad would've made the whole setlist meet my standards actually.
start wearing purple was their best song, but sadly it was their last. oh well.
i still love them though, hopefully if they come back their set-list would be a bit better.

NOFX! fat mike walked on stage casually, not trying to make a show out of it - just perfect. i love how they don't even try and make a fuss like any other bands.
although i prefer when i saw them last year, they still played really well. pretty similar setlist with the addition of we called it america and creeping out sara.
my heart broke when they said they did a double setlist at reading and played the decline. ughrohogrbgkg.
and i like mike talking about blur on stage. killing the crowd.
oh dear, NOFX never fail to make me laugh.

after that i wasn't in the mood to see anything. so bored and tired. wasn't suitable sleeping though, so i went to the tent to get something to wear and drink.
brought my whole bottle of rose with me.
the guy tried to search me too... they're not allowed to search girls! and he asked me to shake my pockets :S

sat at the side of streetlight manifesto drinking wine alone. i couldn't be bothered to watch them, but they sounded pretty good.
hatebreed were on next and leyla came and stood with me for them. i couldn't let myself listen to them. they said something like "if the person next to you isn't moving, i give you permission to move them yourself" and i said "i know where to move" and i walked out.

found liv, and we sat together watching queens of the stoneage. they did a good set. a was a little more interested in theses than everything else after NOFX. basically sat and laughed through it.
loads of people choice to pee on the weezer advert with hurley from lost on, ahaha.
i missed against me! from being too lazy to go alone. thats my biggest regret of the weekend.

after that, we were lying down waiting for guns 'n' roses. god, i was looking forward for it being over if anything.
they weren't as bad when they came on, and an hour went fast.
ended up at the barrier for alkaline trio, i don't even know how. but i felt pretty drunk then, and it was the most drunk i'd been the whole weekend.
it was obvious matt skiba was drunk too, showing off infront of fat mike who was also on stage. he dedicated a song to tony blair...
when they finished guns 'n' roses were still playing and axl was moaning about shit, apparently this got loads of media attention. didn't really know what was happening.
i heard paradise city whilst going back to my tent, lovley bit of information.

that night wasn't the best of sleeps either. oh wellllll.
next morning we packed everything and went home. so weird.

yeah i've been writing this for a few hours now cause i've had nothing to do. can you tell i got lazy during the end? oh well whatever.

Monday, 30 August 2010

i've had this blog over a year now.
i'm guessing i won't use it as much as i did last year, but i intend to post important things that i want to remember rather than a whole analysis of my day. maybe weekly posts or something, i don't even know if i'll keep up with that. i get bored of everything.

i'm still yet to publish my germany/france stuff, and now i'm also working on a leeds post which will probably be on sooner than the europe one.

while i'm here i'm going to post other things thats happened recently.

got my college results back. 3 D's. it sounds pretty disapointing, but i'm really quite chuffed that i actually passed everything. bye bye tyne met!

i think it was last week, i gave blood for the first time. it was something i wanted to do since i was a kid, the idea of saving someones life in such an easy way is amazing. although when it did get closer to the time i got really scared and wanted to forget about the whole thing.
but after everything was filled out, no going back. all the nurses spoke to me, i felt it wasn't nessisary that every single one of them needed to, but whatever.
the guy who put the needle in my arm was talking about the cure to me, the conversation was quite dead though cause i barely paid attention to that.
oh and the needle going in the arm did hurt, and the nurses laughed at me when i said it did. well, it's not exactly a nice feeling, at least i don't want to lie to them.
after a pint of blood was donated, i was free to leave. i got my free cup of tea, and slowly had that. all of a sudden i felt really dizzy, and it came on so fast i felt like i was going to die or something. i don't remember blacking out, but before i woke up i felt like i'd just been asleep cause i had a bit of a dream. it was so bizzare, i opened my eyes and there were loads of nurses standing looking down at me, as well as my mam with eyes full of tears. oh god.
well basically after donating the blood it was traumatic and i thought anything could go wrong after that.
but everything was fine! i was left with a pretty bad bruise after that, which stayed for about a week. 1 in 7 people bruise apparently.
i got a letter from the blood donors saying they're hoping i haven't been put off, and i don't feel like i have really. i would do it again, maybe not this year though.

yeah i totally forgot i was writing this, i started this a few days ago, whoops. it just shows how silly i am with this.

well yesterday i had my interview with newcastle college. i was so much more nervous than i should've been, it was basically a casual chat rather than an interview.
first a group of us were shown around where we'd be having lessons and stuff, and it's basically like a tv studio. well, it is a tv studio cause stuff has been aired in there before, but there's an editing room aswell which looks really fancy and complicated.
when the interviews were going on, we were sitting in the editing room together. there were 3 other people waiting, and i thought i'd be too scared to talk, but i had a nice chat with them all. didn't catch any of their names though, although i'm sure they've got places, they all seemed pretty prepared with work and stuff.
oh and my interview went well! i'm never really good at them, and discussing media was easier cause it's something i actually like. although then again, i'm not an avid tv fan, and it didn't even cross my mind to decide my favourite tv shows before going in.. whoops.
stuck with saying friends and how i met your mother.
the only thing i wish i could've changed was admitting that i sometimes watch big brother. at least it's over and i can't embaress myself with my horrible taste in reality television.
my favourite part of the interview was when the teacher said "if you got a place, would you be happy and would you try your hardest?" and he basically asked me that again 2 more times but in a different way, until interupted him and said "i've never had the chance to do anything like this, the closest thing i could get was writing scripts in college, but nothing more after that" and his response was "would it make your day if you got a place?" and after that he said "because you have a place"
i had the cheesiest smile on my face after that, oh god.
i start in 2 weeks time :)

oh man i forgot what else to put, okay going to work on my leeds blog now bye byeeee

Friday, 13 August 2010

well i haven't been blogging lately, which i don't know why really. probably no motivation.
i've been working on a really long holiday blog, trust me it's taken me hours and i've still not completed it! taking a break now to do this blog. i need to refresh my memory a bit.

since i've been back home i don't think i've been up to that much. i'll point out some highlights.

when i came back home from holiday, my parents came back from dublin, where they'd been the the grown ups premiere. they met adam sandler and chris rock. my dad spoke to them about me, and adam gave my dad a shirt to give to me.
they also met bill nighy at the airport, and he gave me an autograph!

i became a bit obsessed with big brother when i got back, which i shouldn't have let myself into, but whatever. it's not my favourite series cause i don't like many of the housemates. but since the first few days i liked mario, and my opinion on him hasn't changed. i'd love to see him win, but i guess the repsonses i've seen looks like he'll probably not win.
although, i never know, rachel win a few years ago when everyone thought mikey would win...

i had a nice day a few days ago, i forgot the exact date, and i went to my auntie marias house. i spent it with my cousins who i haven't seen in a long time.

bought a couple new films; fantastic mr fox, and paperheart. i'm still expecting welcome to the dollhouse and the squid and the whale in the post. they'll probably take forever to get in the post...

6th of august was my sisters birthday, and i spent the morning with her. she got a make-over, and i got my eye make-up done at the same time.
we had a chinese that night for tea, and i haven't had a proper take away for god knows how long.

joe came to mine after he's been to rebellion, and we watched juno and drew random shit and spoke to john roecker, to put it short.

10th i saw big d and the kids table, mothwash, jb conspiracy, and newbridge downfall with joe. it was a very awkward gig, quite empty compared to other gigs, and i don't think big d have hardcore fans from here.

11th i saw toy story 3 with liv. it was a nice little film, and i cried at the end regardless how much i was trying not to.

can't really think of much else to put, but boring days really. still looking for work and stuff to do.

i wanna see sorcers apprentice and knight and day!

Sunday, 18 July 2010

today was alright.

basically waited around to go to leylas. got the insurance sorted out, and looked through leylas old photos.
when i got home i ended up looking through my own. i don't have many on my hard drive, and it's kind of saddening. i need more photos.

tomorrow i leave for germany, so i can imagine i won't be blogging. idk, i might.

so tired now, i should take advantage of my last night in my own bed.

Saturday, 17 July 2010

oh god why did i forget to blog yesterday?

it was good. i got up early to go to the first screening of inception. it wasn't as crowded as i expected it to be, but that didn't really matter.
the film was so much better than what i was expecting!

me and leyla then went to yates for our lunch cause i got vouchers for free burger and chips. we saved £12.50 :o
and we stayed in town for a bit after that.

can't be bothered to explain the rest of yesterday. but i figured i should do my blog for today here too before i forget another time.

did charity buckets in tynemouth. liv and alice paired up and me and leyla paired up.
time went by so quick. we saw emma the art teacher and it was so awkward.
we also saw a man that looked like seth green.

wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww bored of this.

Thursday, 15 July 2010

today has been particularly boring.

i finished watching my 'how i met your mother' boxset, i seriously need to buy the next boxset as soon as i can afford to waste my money.

i phoned college about my resit. it was an awkward phonecall, because they thought i already knew what happened, but i gave them the wrong number and they left a message to that number.
they've marked my coursework apparently, but they need to contact me again about the exam or something. they better do it before the holiday, which is SOON.

okay boring day short blog.

Wednesday, 14 July 2010

today was fun.

met leyla sharpish at the metro. i was early, even though i told her i'd be late.
i needed to go to college to ask if i was too late to pay for the re-sit. of course, they were vauge about it. when the receptionist was talking to the exam person on the phone, she spent 5 minutes talking about where they're going on holiday. also, halfway through the call she whispered to me "i like your t-shirt!"

i'm still a bit scared about this all, but even if i don't do well, my course has a low entry requirement anyway, and i'm certain it would meet the criteria.

we went to town, moped about for 2 hours. i took a photo of the scott pilgrim display at forbidden planet, which improved from yesterday!

we also found a nice film book in waterstones that included everything is illuminated, eagle v.s. shark, and funny people :)
sexy book.

we went to see killers, which was an enjoyable film. apparently it didn't do very well. it was a little confusing, and not that funny. it helped being hyper during it due to the fact we ate shit beforehand.
leyla collected loads of more free film magazines from the cinema cause they have inception posters on the back. i think she has like 20 now, oh my goddddd.
inside theres a scott pilgrim picture, and she's going to give me them all :)

came home to sort things out to put in the box to germany.
went along to leylas and we tested out the tent for leeds. vair niiiice.

don't think there's much else to say, i'm too tired to mention anything else that happened.
ohh but i listened to the borat soundtrack before, thats why i said vair nice.

Tuesday, 13 July 2010

today was enjoyable, i wish the past few days were more like this one.

i thought i was supposed to be meeting at 12, but turned out it was 11.30, and i left leyla waiting for like 9 minutes or so.

met nailah and her sister in town, but ended up walking past liv and her grandma before that. it was nice because i haven't seen liv and i probably won't see her much more til we're in germany cause she works oml.

had a meal at gekko, which was nice.
can't be bothered to go into detail tbh.

nailah and her sister went to the cinema, me and leyla were going to see something else but decided not to.
we went to hmv instead which seemed like a bad idea, but it wasnt that bad. i picked up the squid and the whale, which i've wanted to see for a while, but increasingly more lately. didn't get it, but coooooool. more money spare.

forbidden planet FINALLY made a display for scott pilgrim vs the world. the same poster placed over and over each other, with 2 of the comic books on stands in the window. awkward display, but nice.

the sweet shop in wallsend had changed their flavours of their slushes. i got a lemon and lime one, and leyla got a tizer one. i miss the red bull one ):

um.

when i got home i got an email about getting an interview for my newcastle college course next year. i was considering not doing it because i don't want to do about television, however the email made it sound appealing.
one thing stood out, and that was mentioning video material that i made in college. also things made out of college would be accepted as part of the portfolio.
so i was looking for things to make with my camcorder. basically that last video counts as something, but it's last minute.
the editing software on my computer is shit though, a bit worried about when that comes close.

i've been re-watching how i met your mother lately. i basically forgot everything that happened on the series oh lorddd.
love it though :)

okay dunno what else to put. worried about life.

Sunday, 11 July 2010

wowowowowowow i haven't updated for days, generally because my life suxkssssss.

just been looking for jobs all week. i've applied for quite a few now, not heard back from any of them yet. i just want the money for germany really, but there's no way i'll get any in time. but at least i've had a moral from this, which is to save money better than i did. last summer i spent all my money on DVD's, this year my money should contriute to having a good time germany/france and leeds.

whateeeeeeever.

today i went to my uncle gerards party, which was quite boring for me. i had 1 bottle of lager, and i just wasn't in the mood to socialise. the house is actually so small, and there must have been over 30 people there.

hmm i can't think of anything that interesting to put, but i'm disapointed i've done nothing. these past few days have been the most boring in my life, honestly. i don't remember being THIS bored.

Tuesday, 6 July 2010

today was good.

me, leyla and liv walked basically. we walked through wallsend, to the sports centre, back around, up to sainsburys in heaton, played in the park for a bit, then towards asda, (which is where liv ditched us), through the rising sun park, near the horses which we stood and stared at for about 10 minutes.
in asda we just sat in mcdonalds reading magazines. i read total film, and the article about eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. i never got to read it all.
we walked back through the rising sun, but over the bigggg hill, and through the hadrian park/battle hill area before walking through wallsend park.
i think today we walked over 12 miles.

my back hurts the most today this week. i think there's something wrong with it ):

oh, and yesterday i did nothing, basically. it was a miserable day. i ended the day watching derren brown's 'the heist' which has got to be the funniest dvd show from his specials boxset. i think i'm going to watch it again tonight, but the last one which i haven't seen yet.

Sunday, 4 July 2010

today was shit :)

felt like utter crap this morning i don't want to talk about it because i know i'll get told off for mentioning it.

i completed my CV, but my mam didn't check if my mobile number was right, and it was printed off.
we went to the royal quays, and i handed it in somewhere, and realised the wrong number was on. i ended up getting really stressed at my mam. ugh.
we went to the silverlink too.

don't think there was any highlight or anything, just want this day to be over it's horrible

Saturday, 3 July 2010

today isn't over but i don't think i'll be bothered later.
it's been pretty good.

met leyla at wallsend, where the festival was. it was rather busy.
we just walked down it to see everything, and there was basically nothing much different to any other year. there were airbrush tattoo stalls, they were new.

ended up in blockbuster looking at dvds, i bought eagle vs shark and ghost town for £5.
after that we went for a slush from the sweet shop. there was blue rasberry, mixed fruit or a yellow coloured one named 'red buzz', which was weird. i overheard the man saying it was just red bull, so i was like YES THAT.
leyla was boring and got the blue one ahaha.

we were going to go to town, but we decided to do it when we can be arsed.

i got home and my mam said we should go to matalan, and we did.
i bought a skirt with a matching vest top, and a dress. both intended for germany/france but i know i'll be wearing them before then, ahaaaaa :)

my back hurts so much.
yesterday was good, what i can recall at least.

walked to work with my mam, and she gave me £40 to buy some clothes. but beforehand she bought me a drink and a box of oreos for my breakfast. she ended up leaving me at 9.45, and i was standing waiting to meet leyla, who i expected at 10. she didn't come til 10.20
i was so boiling and scared.

umm i don't remeber the order of where we went in town. i bought a pair of denim look leggings from primark, which are the same as the ones i wear almost every day, so weeeeeeeeeeee.
i then in h&m got another pair of denim look leggings, but these are a little more realistic and grey. same price as the primark ones. and in the queue leyla ran over with a vest top/dress and insisted i should get it since it was £3.
got a pair of red shorts at a charity shop for £2.25, and gave the 5p change to the donation box.

for lunch we went to wetherspoons, and we both went for the burger and beer offer. on the list of drinks though the wine caught my eye and i knew i had to get it.
yummmmmmie.

dont remember what else i did in town, we got ice lollies after that from the co-op which was the messist thing ever.

got the metro to the royal quays. leyla got off at wallsend, liv came on at wallsend. it was timed perfectly ahaha.

i wanted to check for jobs in clarks, but there weren't any, so we checked the other jobs available. they were all ones that required a CV.
i looked for more clothes, spend loads of time in next, but didn't get anything.

when i got home i started working on my CV which looks good so far, i just haven't completed it due to the fact i've never seen a proper one ¬__¬
i also spent a lot of time looking for jobs and shiz.
i neeeeed money.

Thursday, 1 July 2010

today was quite alright for a day in.

i had a lush bath, then i lay down wrapped up in some comfortable clothes and my dressing gown, and i was so relaxed. it was a nice feeling.

i put on 'lars and the real girl' which has been on my wishlist for a long time. when i was watching it i kept thinking "god this story is so silly" but then i realised how much meaning there was in particular parts of it. ugh i wish i could analyse it or something, there was a scene that i wish i could've done for my AS film coursework.
what bugged me was emily mortimer. she was from shutter island and harry brown, but i didn't realise that til the end of the film.

i felt in the mood to tidy up my room, but it ended up being a clothes organizing session. for a while i've been intending to throw away my jeans because they lower my self-esteem, but i shouldn't really dicuss that online.
i hid my cardigans with the rest of my winter clothes.
i have like no trousers now. my leggings though, which i need to stop wearing all the time. i can't find my black ones which are similar aswell ):

i wanted to look for my tweezers, and i looked EVERYWHERE, and then i saw them hidden behind my phone, i was like FUKA.

um.
i played on the sims and got really annoyed by it.

i made my own tea and watched a holiday thing on tv and got really excited.

i also walked to the shop to buy some cans of pop. i wasn't wearing any make-up, and i was still wearing my indoor clothes so i was worried i'd see someone i knew. i am not used to going out like this.
wasn't bad at all though. i now have a beverage.

can't be bothered to pull information of things i've done today because really i haven't done much.

Wednesday, 30 June 2010

today was fun

my alarm didn't go off, but i woke up at 9 when i set my alarm for. apparently i didn't have my alarm saved to go off, which i clearly remember doing. i feel like something off the science of sleep happened or something, mind fuck maaaaan.

had no change for the metro and had to go to green ways beforehand to get change. 4 cans of pop for £1, can't go wrong. ended up selling one each to leyla and liv.
oh and i forgot today was wednesday and the metro tickets were cheaper, fuck yesss.

the walk to college seemed so long, but it was so weird.
but we got there, and went straight to amigos to meet alice. felt like a normal college day, ehhhhhhh.
we had the last cervical cancer jab. i wasn't as prepared, but i felt like i was pretty confident to get it over with. i didn't mind going first out of everyone. the needle didn't hurt, but right now it is painful. ugh.
i got a free pen, keyring and nail file, which was cool.

walked back to the metro, which felt even longer.
the metro went by so fast though, and we were in town quick. basically me and leyla went straight to the cinema to find out the times, boots to get food, then back to the cinema in time for the film.
we saw greenburg, which i'd been wanting to see for ages.
me and leyla were the only ones in the screening, apart from an old man who came in alone over half way through the adverts.
oooooh and they showed the new scott pilgrim trailer, and i was so excited. i am now aswell, i feel basically the same as before alice in wonderland came out.

the film was so awkward, and i was expecting it to be better. but, it's a ben stiller film so i knew i wasn't wasting my money. i like his character, but he's hard to understand, probably just after the first time seeing him. i'm used to comedy roles off him, and this was barely a comedy film.

after the film we headed to hmv, cause i wanted to find plan 9 from outerspace, but it wasn't there. the cure was playing and we stood listening, well i listened, leyla begged to go downstairs during the second song of theres they played.

we went along to w h smiths after that, and leyla bought total film and empire magazine. we were looking in the bussiness, motorsports and hobbies sections for more magazines with lenardo dicaprio on the cover. suprisingly, there were none that met the criteria.

i think after that we left. i wanted to check for scott pilgrim stuff at forbidden planet, then realised i should probably wait til after germany time cause then it would be more sucessful.
but on the metro we decided to go to the cheap dvd shop in the royal quays whilst i had my cheap metro ticket.

as we were walking into the shopping area we ran into livs grandma and brother. that was funny.
we went into the cheap dvd shop, which seemed good. i wish i had money to buy all the stuff in there. at least i know where i'll be going after the summer.

um we went to the works after that, which was pointless.
we caught back up with livs grandma and she offered to give us a lift home. alex insisted to sit in between me and leyla in the back seat.
he turned to me and said i looked like michael jackson and said something like "he would suit those sunglasses, and he had a ring in his nose too"
then livs grandma said "thats a good way to win a girls heart... not"
omg.

when i got home my dad said my mam wanted to go for a meal and i can eat whatever shit in the house. i insisted i wanted to go for the meal too!
which ended up being sausage and chips from the fish quay. my mam wanted to go to particular resteraunt her friend suggested, but we walked past and it looked too full, and trampy. obviously when we were driving out, we discovered that street has 3 resturants with the same name, one of which looked such a nice place to eat. ahahaaaaaaa.
my mam and dad wanted to go for a walk down the coast too and i was like D: NO.
ended up sitting alone in the car playing trials of games on my phone til they came back.
we got some ice creams from the co-op, then went home. i'm glad i was out the house doing nothing. thats all i wanted to do really. i have no money for anything outside home.

i was going to watch a film, but i figured i should have a day in watching everything tomorrow. cooooool babe.

Tuesday, 29 June 2010

today was okay

i was sad this morning because apparently wes anderson was at the alice in wonderland premiere, and i didn't know then. so gutted.

met leyla at half 2, got €25 from the post office, more dracula lollies, cans of pop, and some pre-owned dvds from blockbuster. i got our house and lars and the real girl. both on my wishlist :)
we were looking to get some food, and we saw liv ashie and alex walking home from school, so we hid in livs front yard. liv was the only one who didn't notice.

i watched our house when i got home, but joe came in between to speak to me.

now i'm watching seven pounds, but typing this during the begining which i've seen before.

i had terrible sleep last night, so tired right now, thats why i'm not really elaberating on much today.

Monday, 28 June 2010

today was so goooooooood.

i met leyla at one, and she was supposed to come to mine to watch a film but i was like "ugh noooooo" so we went for a walk. we ended up bringing the idea of an ice cream, and went to green ways.
we found these dracula lollies, and being a horror fan i was like "OK MINE"
they were obviously some cheapy lollies, but when we had them we were like "OH GOD LUSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
and we implusivly called on liv. she seemed really shocked we turned up, and ended up taking all her food. i felt bad about it, but leyla was like "go on she'll make you something!"
we ended up going to the shop for some stella too, which was a perfect idea for a summer day.
we watched series of unfortunate events which was constantly being interuppted due to complete hyperness, but eitherway i enjoyed the film.
during that ashie came over. basically me and leyla had to leave when she came.
we waited outside livs for about 10 minutes until we banged on her windows and stuff and ran off. she didn't even hear...

yeah coool.
i watched this programme about the science of food and omg it was so weird and stupid. i was laughing at everything in it. when they were making cheese and seperating the curds and way the song they played was "thats the way"
ahahaha oh god.

i wanted to watch derren brown but i've left it too late again. i want to sleep when i feel like i'm capable of falling asleep, which obviously isn't now ):

Sunday, 27 June 2010

today was good.

had no sleep, still got up early and headed to leylas at 9.30.
we walked to the silverlink, which is like 3 miles, fuuuck the weather was so hot aswell, i was dying.
but on the way we were laughing at livs voicemail message oh god.

we saw the karate kid, which i wasn't looking forward to that much. but it was great. i've never seen the original so i can't compare it.
the cinema smelt like my old maths classroom.

um. we walked back which wasn't as bad as the way there weather wise. but liv was with us, and leyla and liv were doing their weird aruging thing it was really awkward ehhhhhh.

i played on the sims when i got back, bored of it quick.

looked for jobs, i'm so worried about not finding a job ):
poooooo

Saturday, 26 June 2010

oh god i don't really remember yesterday.
i played the sims lots.
i went into wallsend with my sister and she bought me a lipstick.
and i watched derren brown do roulette, which was kind of scary-ish.

i've decided not to forget the todays entry and put it now, even though i don't consider the day over.

i played the sims again, i'm a bit addicted, but i wish i had sims 2 instead, so much more fun.

i then went into asda with my mam, she wasn't very happy with me and it wasn't that great of a trip. however, at least wine and lemonade was bought for me.
we then went to my grandmas and grandads, and i felt awkward. i stood there whilst everyone sorted out fitting things in the kitchen and i couldn't help. i ended up sitting in the yard alone bored.
in that time i discovered you could email to be an audience in a derren brown show, and basically after that i was determind to get home and email them.
once i got home, i obviously did that right away.

joe came over for a bit whilst i was sorting out my itunes, which is being a bitch to put it in short.
we ended up walking back to his house to buy stamps then back to mine to watch derren brown seance.
there was some of the things in it that were very similar to when we saw him, nevertheless i enjoyed it. it was quite funny to see how scared the people got.

i borrowed a couple of films off joe so i might watch one of them, or derren brown. who knows yet.

Friday, 25 June 2010

ahaha i forgot to post about yesterday even though i already posted something yesterday. i can imagine this will become a habit.

yesterday was fun.

i went to sunderland with leyla. i was sad because i had sunday on my mind, and i was going knowing derren brown wouldn't be there. awwe.
we went in hmv and ended up getting nothing. i think that was the only shop we went to. other than mcdonalds.
we sat outside, and there was a seagul walking close to us, and i was terrified. i finished my burger but i still got the idea it was going to peck out my eyes.
some stranger chased it away for me and said something to me that had the word 'pasty' in the sentence, but i can't remember what.

we then got the metro to south shields, and went straight to the hmv there. again, there was nothing, it was a bit silly going back in considering there was nothing that time.
basically next door there was cex, and we looked at the dvds there. once i was there i forgot all the films on my wishlist, apart from forbidden zone which wasn't there, and leyla had picked up like 50 dvds. i'm sure we spent a bit longer than half an hour looking through the dvds. i picked up a derren brown boxset a few times, but i ended up not getting anything.

went to asda after that. it was so new. i got the sunglasses i wanted, finally. no more complaining when it's sunny, unless i forget them.

we went back to town, and obviously ended up going to hmv. oh god i'm so happy we did.
leyla was checking the world cinema, and i went to look for forbidden zone in the musical section just to check, and it was there! i was like tihgliubgwleiubgliu.
then i checked the price, and it was only £3. on the hmv website it was £12, obviously i bought that.
and ended up buying the derren brown boxset that i was looking at in cex. it was only £10, and leyla had spent quite a bit on dvds, i thought i might aswell not feel as left out.

we went to cex and i barely even looked at anything, i couldn't findd forbidden zone there :')

i got home i put on forbidden zone immediately. i actually really enjoyed it, it was so crazy. it was only an hour and 10 minutes long which was quite short.
i found the soundtrack on spotify and it's pretty much all i listended to after that aswell as just oingo boingo.

i played on the sims again for a short time cause it was too late and i got too tired to continue. oh weeeeeeeeellllllllllll.
