can't comprehend that it's really 2012. i feel like a kid when a new year starts, cause i'm always expecting a massive nuclear explosion, or something really odd to happen, but nothing changes at all. i like that feeling though, it's a weird type of excitement, worry and relief all at once.
right now, i'm kind of glad 2011 is over, i've got things to get on with this year that i couldn't do last year. don't get me wrong though, 2011 has been amazing, one of the best of the 20 years i've experienced. i don't know if the lack of blog post on here from last year depicts that or not, but i guess it suggests i've been busy doing fun things.
i celebrated with leyla in town at trillians, dog and parrot, and legends. i drank plenty of rose wine, and it was a pretty good night out. it's sad liv couldn't celebrate with us, but i don't think she would've enjoyed the places we went as much and leyla and i did. we did eventually see her at 2am this morning, but it's a shame we had a rude taxi driver with massive lips there too. we spent more time with him than with liv, which sucks. no doubt i'll be spending a lot of time with her this year, so i suppose missing her at the start of a new year shouldn't be really disappointing.
as far as resolutions go, i haven't thought of anything proper. it's not that i don't want to think of anything, it's just it's not necessary. if i want change, i'll attempt to do that immediately.
although, something that i have decided to change is that i want to travel to more places than i did last year. it's boring spending all my time here, when i could be somewhere cool where i've never been to that's only a train/bus ride away. i'm probably never going to be able to afford these things once i'm out of college and i have student loan to be paying.
i'm expecting to go back to london soon for something film related, if i don't, my year will probably be really disappointing.
i also want to try harder to get a job this year. now i've finished my christmas job, i'm hoping i'm more confident, and more employable with that experience. i'd also like to add more media experience on my cv, since right now i only have 1 proper thing excluding my academic stuff, and i still don't even think it's that amazing. i hope i can impress myself, because i'm convinced it's really within reach.
i hope i get to meet bill murray this year.
