okay so i haven't updated for 3 days, for pretty obvious reasons.
i spent most of the morning with leyla and sam. they were watching music channels in my living room, whilst i got changed. we then went into the forum to buy things for the bus journey to london. i also ended up buying tim burton a little toy just incase i met him. it was a little box thing where you could re-create it yourself.
when i came home, i wrote my letter to tim, and put it in a card for him.
i went to my auntie teresas house at 9.50pm to say goodbye to her and my grandma, and they gave me £20 :)
i was at leylas for 10pm, basically hyper.
the bus journey there was very scary. the man infront of us randomly prayed to himself, and kept looking at me and leyla.
the bus picked us up at midnight, 15 minutes late.
i don't remember if i slept. i was excited, nervous and very very uncomfortable.
at 3am we got to the services. the only place open was wh smiths. it was bizzare the fact it was open then.
the black family infront of us on the bus were very loud. apparently one of them dropped the baby. haha.
we got in london about 7am, maybe a few minutes earlier than that.
we walked down buckingham palace road, til we were outside the palace. the whole area was empty.
we walked through st.james park. FULL OF BIRDS. i hate birds after that, oh my god. i hate their beaks the most.
but walking down the path, under some trees, a bird shit right infront of me. had i been walking any faster, it would've went on me. i guess that was sheer luck.
we found our way to leicester sqaure. we were slowly getting closer to those advert things. it was so breath-taking seeing them with my own eyes. also that people took it for granted, practically everyone was going to work.
we walked around that area for a while til we found the cinema, with barriers being placed. although leyla thought we should've waited about half 2, we waited then anyway. which was 7am. it was very boring.
9 hours at the barrier. well, i left for the toilet once, and my phone died too which was annoying.
i also left at one point to buy a hat cause i was cold, and ended up getting lost in china town. i didn't even find a decent hat ):
also at 9am we saw david walliams (little britain) walking into the radio station entrance. he was so casual, no one even noticed him.
time went so slowly when we had 2 hours to go.
a french news company cane near us and asked people who they were here for. everyone said "JOHNNY DEPP" and she went to me "and you?" "tim burton" and she justured the camera guy to come over.
so this woman was having a conversation to the girls next to us that johnny depp was good looking and shit, and then she said "okay tim burton girl"
and i basically had this very deep conversation about why i came there for him. i felt like crying through that too, cause i was thinking he was actually going to be in the same city as me at the same event.
then at about 5.30pm when everyone was expected to arrive, cars pulled up. i don't remember who was first. i do remember one car coming up, and tim and helena came out their car together, both holding their son billys hand. i began to cry at that point. i couldn't believe it.
the closer he was to me, the more i began to cry, and shake. then he inches away. i held out the letter i wrote for him and said "this is for you" he first put his pen on it til he saw his name, and he said "thank you" and put it away. he then looked at me, saw my eyes streaming with tears and said "thank you, sweetheart"
at that point, i thought i'd either died, or it was all a dream. especially when he smiled at me, i can't even think of words to describe that moment.
eversince i saw edward scissorhands, tim has been a role model to me. he made me intrested in film. imagine if i never saw it, or even heard of who he was?
i'm sure it was fate. when i saw edward scissorhands, i never thought i'd actually meet the person who thought of the character, and took part at making him come to life. i'm blessed that there's been a moment in both of our lives when we literally got to stand together and have a connection in a tiny way.
the fact, in his life at one point, in between making things that make me love him, he spent a minute with me.
i've wrote so much about that tiny moment, but that moment means my world. it's blown my mind, and i'll never ever forget that day.
he signed my book. he put a star next to his name. he didn't for leyla, which makes it special. i wonder if he put it on for anyone else?
after that, i was still crying a bit. some girls near spoke to me asking me if i was alright, i just said "yeah, i'm very happy"
i was also asked if i was from newcastle because of my accent, haha! my accent is barely strong to me when i'm home, although i guess everyones accent is the same up here.
so next around was helena bonham carter. she was so elegant. she was wearing a huge viviane westwood dress, and holding a clutch handbag with the queen of hearts on.
she was talking to people around her, but i didn't have anything to say. i was over the moon about meeting tim, i couldn't care who else came over.
she didn't sign my book when she was near me, but when leyla held it, she signed mine. she went so slowly around the barriers signing things.
matt lucas was there too, he came all the way around, til a few people before me, and skipped to the otherside. people started to boo him over our side, and leyla was like "pfft, already met him" haha!
avril lavinge was there. i was like "eurghhhhhh" and then that even more when i saw who else she brought, derek from sum 41. i hoped they didn't come over. i didn't want them near me. gladly, they didn't.
anne hathway came over too. she was also very elegent. very tiny. she was wearing vivian westwood also. her arms were very freckley. her autograph is very messy.
alan rickman too. very very clumsey. he took someone elses pen, put the lid back on the pen, signed leylas book with the pen lid on, then took it off and signed it again, handed the pen back to the person who owned it, and walked into a car that was driving. he nearly killed himself and he showed no embaressment whatsoever.
so not long after that, johnny depp came over. i felt like crying again, but i didn't. i was annoyed at the fact everyone was there for him. it began to rain so hard too.
he had lots of people around him. you can tell he's a star. he even had a different route to the rest of the cast.
when he came over to me, the girl next to me made my left ear deaf. a spanish girl even pissed on leyla.
people were saying "I LOVE YOU JOHNNY" and "HOT MAN JOHNNY" and he didn't respond.
i said "johnny, do you really support the west memphis three?" he looked at me and said "oh, oh yes i do" and gave me a giant grin. i smiled back at him and said "thank you"
the fact that he actually supports them gives me a whole new love for him. it's such a shame hollywood is full of spoilt and fake people, because johnny is such a gentleman and shouldn't even be assosiated with that.
also, he plays my favourite character ever, so that blew my mind aswell. i'll never get over that.
after that, me and leyla tried to find our way to the hotel. we ached everywhere, and couldn't walk properly. we went through streets and streets.
when we found the hotel, we were drenched. we went inside, and everyone stared at us. the guy was like "aww did you find your way okay?"
our hotel room was nice. the first thing we done was phoned liv. it was nice speaking to her telling her everything. she basically said "OH MY GOD" to everything :)
me and leyla had a cup of wine each that i brought with me. i could barely drink it fast. i didn't believe it was reality.
we were going to go to TGI fridays, but we lost were it was and ended up going to 'little frankies' at trafalgar sqaure. it was basically a tiny version of 'frankie and bennies'
i got a bbq chicken calzone with orange juice, and leyla got a bacon cheeseburger with fanta. it was so awkward inside, there was one woman serving everyone. and lots of people came for the toilets rather than food.
after that we bought krispy kreme doughnuts from tesco. they need to do them here, because they are goregous.
we walked around london for a bit too. there are so many shops that reminded us of alice and liv. it would be so much fun going with them.
the only downside at that point was the homeless people. i was so scared around them!
when we got back to the hotel, we were so tired. it didn't take long for us to get to sleep.
i woke up, and thought "I'M IN LONDON!"
we took ages getting ready. well, i did. i also took advantage of the free tea and coffee. i literally just remembered now, i brought some home. yay me.
the first place we went to was a shop in covent gardens called the cinema store. it was so exciting. i wanted everything in it. they had a postcard rack too.
i bought a edward scissorhands poster, 2 alice in wonderland postcards, a charlie and the chocolate factory postcard, a nightmare before christmas postcard, and a present for liv.
when we went to the til, the man who served us was clearly jealous about the fact we met johnny depp. i was thinking "why does no one care about tim burton? he's a legend!!"
we also went into tesco to see if we were in the newspaper or something. nope. more doughnuts though. we saw this giant black woman at the til and leyla said "we'll go to precious"
it was the funniest thing.
we went into a shop called cybercandy. it had everything forgin in there.
i bought 2 big boxes of wonka sweets for my family, a giant can of mountain dew and a bar of butterfinger for the journey home.
they had little heartshaped baskets too. they were cute.
after there, we got the tube to camden. i was so excited. i knew how much liv loved it, and leyla expected me to be the same. she was right.
i bought a clockwork orange hoodie within 5 minutes of being there. i hate the colour orange, however this hoodie is only perfect orange.
i also ended up buying a hat (which was originally £20, but i haggled and got it for £8!), presents for alice and louise, and i don't even remeber what.
it was brilliant though.
we got the tube to oxford street, went for a stop at marks and spencers cafe. the women next to us were geordie.
i got my beloved m&s coke. it was 26p more than newcastle, but heheheehehe whatever.
we went into HMV after that. giiiiiiiiant. i bought ed wood, which is a tim burton film i haven't seen, and i'm very embaressed about. i'm going to watch it after i've typed all this up.
i don't really remember the order of eveything else. we travelled to harrods, just because we could. it was expensive and horrible. leyla had to carry her backpack with her hands, and i kept standing on it.
also we went to see the royal albert hall. umm.
yeah the last few minutes in london was a rush.
we nearly missed the coach.
on the coach the man at the back was VERY loud on his phone. he was told to stop twice by the driver, but he didn't pay attention, so a passenger ran up and shouted at him and called him a bastard.
i felt like something horrible was going to happen.
people further up the bus started to shout too. it was scary.
this journey home was longer. leyla couldn't speak.
she said "every thingle thing", "epic magzine" and "megan shock"
i got home just before midnight. oh my life.
last night i spent typing a quatar of this, and putting my edward scissorhands poster up.
my first ever trip to london, and i got to meet my hero. definatly one of the best days of my life, and i'll never forget it. i think it totally blows over 90% of the shit that happened last year, and today i love my life so much. i am far too lucky.
